Air Monitor · by MIAITEC
Effective 23 October 2026.
The short version
Air Monitor does not collect any personal data. We have no server and no accounts, and there are no ads, no analytics and no tracking. The app talks directly to your own air quality monitor.
Your monitor's data
The app reads your monitor's readings, history and settings over your Wi-Fi network or Bluetooth, and shows them to you. Readings, saved charts, the names you give your monitors and your app settings are stored on your iPhone or iPad so the app can show them when the monitor is out of reach. The monitor's web password is stored in your device's Keychain. None of this is sent to us.
Outdoor air (optional, Singapore)
If you turn on outdoor air, the app downloads public air-quality and weather readings published by Singapore's National Environment Agency from data.gov.sg. These requests contain no personal information; like any website, data.gov.sg can see the internet address the request comes from.
To pick the nearest region and weather station you can type a place or use your location. A place you type is looked up with Apple's map service. Your location is only used if you choose it, once, while the app is open, and stays on your device: the app downloads the readings for all of Singapore and picks the nearest one itself.
Notifications
Air-quality alerts are notifications created on your device from what your monitor reports. No push service of ours is involved.
Files you share
Settings backups and exported readings (CSV) are only created when you ask for them, and only go where you choose to share or save them. A firmware file you pick is sent only to your monitor.
Photo frame
If you use the monitor as a photo frame, you pick photos with the system photo picker: the app only sees the photos you choose, not your library. Each one is resized on your device and sent over your Wi-Fi network only to the memory card in your monitor. Photos are not sent to us or to anyone else, and you can delete them from the app or the monitor's web page at any time.
Apple Home and other services you connect
If you add the monitor to Apple Home, the Home app talks to the monitor directly under Apple's privacy policy. If you set up MQTT, the monitor sends its readings to the server you enter. We are not involved in either.
What we don't do
- No personal information is collected or stored by us.
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
- No analytics, tracking or third-party SDKs.
- No access to your contacts, camera, microphone or photo library (only photos you pick for the photo frame, as above).
- Nothing is sold or shared with anyone.
Children
Because the app collects no personal data, it collects none from children either.
